Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers to the questions that come up most. Most of these link to a page with the full detail if you need it.
What is NNIPA?
A single platform for connecting, cataloging, analyzing, and digitizing your organization’s data — files, databases, live change streams, APIs, and scanned documents all land in the same place.
Do I need to install anything?
No. NNIPA runs entirely in your browser. The only setup involved is network access if you’re connecting a private database — see Installation.
How is my data kept separate from other customers?
Every dataset, analysis, and job is scoped to your tenant, and that scoping is enforced by the same query engine that runs every request — not just checked once at the edge. See Tenant Isolation for the full model.
What data sources can I connect?
File uploads (CSV, Excel, JSON), live databases via CDC (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB), and REST or GraphQL APIs.
How does NNIPA handle scanned documents and PDFs?
Digitization extracts structured data from documents using OCR, scores each extraction’s confidence, and routes anything uncertain to a human reviewer before it’s saved alongside your other data.
What statistical methods are available?
Descriptive statistics, correlation, t-tests, chi-square, regression, ANOVA, and distribution fitting — all runnable without writing a query.
Can I connect NNIPA to Power BI or another BI tool?
Yes — published datasets are available through an OData v4 endpoint. See BI Connectivity.
What happens if my analysis takes a while to run?
It runs as a background job rather than blocking your browser. You can navigate away and come back — the result is waiting for you when the job finishes.
How are roles and permissions structured?
Every organization starts with five built-in roles — owner, admin, analyst, viewer, and member — and admins can create custom roles for anything those don’t cover. See Roles and Permissions.
Is multi-factor authentication supported?
Yes, via an email or SMS one-time code, and an organization can require it for every member. See Authentication.
Where is my data stored?
Structured data is stored in NNIPA’s managed lakehouse; digitized documents follow the same path once extracted. See Architecture for how the pieces fit together.
I can't find an answer here — what should I do?
Check Troubleshooting for common issues, or contact support — a person will pick it up from there.
