Manage Data
Catalog
The Data Catalog is where you discover, classify, and document every dataset your tenant owns. New tables show up within seconds of being created, and the catalog re-syncs automatically every 5 minutes as a safety net.
Quick Start
- 1
Open the catalog
Every dataset your tenant owns is listed here, scoped to your tenant.
- 2
Filter and search
Use the filter rail on the left (or the Filters button on mobile) alongside the search bar to narrow down by type, sensitivity, owner, tag, and more.
- 3
Save a view (optional)
Once you've set up filters you'll want again, save them as a view — filters live in the URL, so any saved view or shared link stays reproducible.
- 4
Open a dataset
Click into any row to see its full detail, description, and lineage.
- 5
Sync if something's missing
Click "Sync now" to trigger an on-demand scan instead of waiting for the next automatic sync.
Catalog summary
Four tiles at the top of the page give you an at-a-glance read on the health of your catalog:
Datasets
Total active assets in your tenant.
Documented
Percentage of assets with an operator-supplied description.
Tagged
Percentage of assets carrying at least one tag.
Lineage links
Discovered edges between datasets.
Filtering and search
Every filter lives in the URL's query string, so links and saved views are always shareable and reproducible. Facet counts in the filter rail update to reflect whatever filters are currently applied, so you can see how narrowing one filter affects the others.
qFree-text search across name, description, and identifier. Debounced, so typing doesn't fire a request on every keystroke.typeFilter by dataset type. Multi-select.sensitivityFilter by sensitivity classification. Multi-select.statusDefaults to active — change to see archived or other statuses.favoritesShow only datasets you've favorited.owner_user_id / technical_owner_user_idFilter by business or technical owner. Multi-select.tagFilter by one or more tags.sortControls list ordering. On smaller screens, the filter rail collapses into a slide-over panel opened with the Filters button. Active filters also show up as removable chips above the list.
Syncing the catalog
Click "Sync now" to trigger an on-demand scan instead of waiting for the automatic 5-minute re-sync. The trigger returns immediately and the scan runs in the background — the button shows a spinner while NNIPA polls for completion, then refreshes the list automatically once the run finishes.
- The catalog is tenant-scoped — you'll only ever see datasets that belong to your current tenant.
- My favorites gives you a filtered view of just the datasets you've starred.
- Recently viewed datasets appear near the top of the page so you can jump back into what you were just looking at.
- If a sync run fails or takes longer than expected, the automatic 5-minute re-sync is the backstop — you don't need to keep retrying manually.
